Description
This is a Master Piece designed by Josef Hoffmanm for Moser circa 1915 - 1920. Finely crafted glass in deep Amber Rose color, featuring faceted sides panels in the Viennese Secessionist style of Josef Hoffmanm, high style design of Deco Period. The decanter is about 7 inches tall and the glasses are 2 inches. They are in fabulous vintage condition with only two tiny fleabites on one of the glasses ( that I have captured on last photo). All other peices are in great condition. Some scratch marks are observed on the bottom of the bottle from sitting around for about 100 years. The first photo is the actual items. I had a professional photographer shot thesepieces for the antique store's website where I had a space for over a decade until pandemic hits
.
The Austrian architect Josef Hoffmann was a central figure in the evolution of modern design, and a leader in an aesthetic movement born in Europe in the late 19th century that rejected florid, extravagant ornamentation in favor of a new emphasis on simplicity of line. As a founder of the turn-of-the-century Wiener Werkstätte (in English: the Viennese Workshops), a design cooperative that produced superbly crafted furniture and housewares, Hoffmann was a pioneering practitioner of what would become a fundamental principle of modernism: that good design is a way of life.
