Geoff Hurst came into the world with soccer in his blood.  His dad, a stand up player in his own right, helped inspire Geoff at an early age.  After a troubled start with West Ham United, Hurst soon found success and landed himself a spot on the English national team, and the rest is history.  After his start in the quarterfinals against Argentina, Hurst earned his starting spot going through to the finals despite controversy from the press. His job in the finals is today ranked among myth and legend.  His hattrick, capped off by his controversial final goal, solidified Hurst’s position as one of the greats in English soccer lore.
