Too many VW's have leaky  valve covers and most of the time it's because of poor quality  valve cover gaskets! The original gaskets were a specific rubber/cork compound that  could not only withstand the extreme heat of the cylinder head,  but also hot oil. These brand new gaskets are just like those -  and why shouldn't they be - they're made by an OEM to VW in  Germany - Victor Reinz! In this auction, unlike everyone else on  eBay - we're giving you not one set - but TWO sets! These are  the exact same gaskets we use on all of our personal VW's and  we've sold tens of thousands of them through our retail store  and website for 21 years now! These are the gaskets you want to  use. Do it once, do it right!

These gaskets are used in the above vehicles only if they are  still running the following engines with valve covers that use the original style gaskets:
1200cc 40hp
1300cc
1500cc
1600cc (or any engine built off this platform - 1641cc, 1776cc,  1835cc, 1915cc, etc)
1900cc (Vanagon only)
2100cc (Vanagon only)
These will not fit with aftermarket valve covers that use the  U-Channel rubber seals! These will also not fit 1200cc 25 or  36hp engines or Type 4 engines.
Installation notes:
We always use some Gasgacinch on the gaskets to keep them in  place when installing so we don't pinch them. If you are still  getting a leak after replacing the gaskets, make sure you didn't  pinch the gasket, have weak bails (if you can get them off  without using a screwdriver, they're too weak), or have a warped  head or bad valve cover.
