    Description

    Vintage Shakespeare Wonderod Fly Fishing Rod FY-A500-ECK 8'6"
    This is a two piece vintage Shakespeare Wonderod fly fishing rod. Model FY-A500-ECK rod is 8'6" in length an weighs 4.5 oz. Rod is from Shakespeare's Professional Series and will handle a 6-7 weight fly line. Rod dates to January 1968. Rod has a 4" black and maroon anodized aluminum sliding hood down locking ring fly reel seat. The 6 1/2" specie cork "half-wells" fly grip has a maroon aluminum winding check. Standard stainless steel hookeeper is an addition to the rod. Stainless steel stripper guide, six stainless steel snake guides, and a rust proof tip top. Nickle plated brass ferrules. Blade is Wonderod white with merlot nylon guide winds and black nylon extensions. Specie cork has been cleaned and reconditioned. Blade on the butt section has some resin yellowing. Rod is finished with Vintage Gudebrod Glass Rod Varnish. Section pack separately in clear plastic rod sleeves inside of brown fiber rod storage tube.
