RARE! Royal Dux 'Arab on the Hunt' On Horse LARGE 17" Figure
For your consideration is a very cool, very old Royal Dux sculpture/figure. This is not one that you come across regularly, but this particular one is even more interesting because it is is heavier than the molded ones, contains the name of the scene on the side of the base ('Arabe en Chasse'), and has exceptional quality detail in the sculpting. It was suggested to me that this may in fact have been a handmade studio piece. I'm not sure about that, but it's definitely heavier and has higher quality detail making it more unusual and quite rare. Has the very identifiable pink triangle set into the bottom of the base and contains the letter E which dates this to around 1900. The impressed number on the bottom is 1977 which refers to the mold shape. The piece is approximately 17"h x 14"w x 7"d. A truly fantastic piece.
