    Early 18th Century Meissen Hand Painted Cherub With Shield Figurine C. 1740-1750s
    Rare early 18th century Meissen hand painted cherub figurine holding a shield with hand painted flowers. Has encrusted flowers around the one side of the shield and to the base. Marked on the bottom with the number 80 and on the back with a blue underglaze crossed swords mark.
    One of his wings has been broken off and professionally restored. The other wing has had some over painting. His left front foot has had some restoration. His shield has extensive over painting and there is some over painting to his chest. The repairs have discolored and need to be redone.
    Measures approximately 2 1/8 inches wide x 3 1/4 inches tall.
    This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
