Antique 18tC Meissen Porcelain Yellow Ground Floral Cup & Saucer Porzellan Tasse

For sale is
an early cup and saucer set made by Meissen in about 1740 . The cup is nicely painted with two woodcut style flowers on white ground surrounded by a nicely shaped trim with the rest of the cup having a superb light yellow ground color. The simple handle shape has a bit of gold trim on it and the top rim has a brown trim. Inside is a hand painted bug with its shadow - something only used for a short time period and attributed to the painter Klinger . The saucer is nicely hand painted with one larger flower as well as five smaller flowers scattered throughout with a nice brown trim to the rim. In this case the underside of the saucer is painted with that same light yellow ground color which is very nice! The set is marked with an early version of the blue crossed swords underneath as well as a puce painters mark as shown. The set is in great condition with a shallow outside rim chip to each piece which was filled in but could be improved upon easily. A little bit of wear to the brown trim and two spots on the flowers of the saucer. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 4.875 inches in diameter and the cup is 1.75 inches tall with a diameter of 3.125 inches. 18thC 18th century German Germany Gelber Fond Grund Untertasse
